iPhone Pink Screen of DEATH

Latest Update: build 5A240d, beta 3 has been released!

I wake up this morning, and my iPhone is a brick! I have the "please connect to itunes" screen. Thinking I must have done something to cause this I started researching what could be wrong. I restore my phone, and nothing helps. Finally I give up and find out that my friend who is also an iPhone developer (different account) has the same exact problem as I do!

What is going on?! Please post comments if you have the same problem!

Other people experiencing problems: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1476829&tstart=0

UPDATE: I called the ADC customer service (800-633 2152), they told me that many people are also experiencing this problem. They just took my information down, and said they have techs working on the issue.

UPDATE: The Apple Forums deleted the post. According to the developer agreement you can't talk about this stuff in public http://developer.apple.com/iphone/terms/registered_iphone_developer.pdf

UPDATE: Just came back from Apple store. They are clueless to all of this, and they tried to install 1.1.4 and of course it failed. (Probably because it tries to flash the baseband and fails) I had to make an appointment to come back, and will hopefully get a replacement.

UPDATE: New iPhone Firmware is out! build 5A240d, beta 3. Please let us know how your install goes in the comments section!

I knew I should have gone with a touch to do development on. Now I've got the sexiest paperweight in the world.

Count me in. Pink screen are cute and all, but I'd really like to be able to receive a call.

If they can't release an OS update by 5pm, I'm taking it in to Apple to have it replaced.

apple was pretty clear on using development units for development. Anyone who is a serious developer would know better.

2andy: What the hell are you talking about?
I still can't develop anything on pink brick.

If this isn't resolved by this afternoon, I'm taking my iPhone in and claiming that it's dead, which it is. It's one thing to lock my phone into dev mode until 2.0 GM, quite another to take it down because Apple could not get an update out soon enough.

Arug... PSOD for me too. Guys, if you are official developers (which is why you have the PSOD) I'd be careful about the 'replacement' thing as you can only certify so many iPhones under the development program. This might not be the only PSOD :)

@henson there are some comments from those who are complaining they can't receive phone calls. I was merely stating that one should not be using their primary source of communication as a development device. right?

Perhaps if Apple let me purchase a "development" iPhone at a significantly reduced price, perhaps one that would force me to move my SIM around to make it work, then I would have done that. They did not, so "serious" developers need to buy (a) another phone and (b) another line of service for it. No thanks.

I have to say wenge that you bring up a good point. I have a number of them here with full accounts because there is no 'developer phone device', just the stock iPhone. So now I have a bundh of phone lines that are being used by absolutely nobody

I just got access to the dev program today. I read everyone's comments in this thread. If the firmware times out, will the next beta release fix the 'dead phones'? In other words, has the latest release fixed the expired betas?
