New iPhone Firmware Installed

Just installed the new firmware. Getting closer to being finished. It seems a lot more stable, and the iTunes Store link is back. The App Store button has been added. The App store doesn't work yet though (no surprise).

After playing around I found some new features:

  • Password fields now show you the last letter you typed for a few seconds.
  • Application now asks the user to allow or disallow access to the user's location (similar to how J2ME applications ask for LBS information)

I installed the latest beta as well and it appears that the audio for music, video and youtube do not play at the normal speed. They play very slow. The video however plays normal. Anyone else having the same issue? I submitted a performance bug to the AppleSeed site. I am not sure if this was because the latest Beta does not have the DRM player installed or what, but I did not have this issue on the previous Beta.

I just talked to the AppleCare iPhone Support line and they said my issue should not occur and that I should try reinstalling the beta again.
